If, like us, you think Christmas songs are usually overplayed and over-early each year (in fact, even if you don’t), you’ll appreciate two things about this week’s Tunesday. First, that we waited until December at least to hint at a festive theme. Second, that this feels considerably more refreshing than hearing Slade wishing everybody yet another ‘Merry Xmas’. Pentatonix are a talented five-piece ‘a cappella’ group, known in the U.S. for winning the third season of NBC’s The Sing-Off. This is their creative take on the classic ‘Little Drummer Boy’; a version of the much-covered song that stands out from the rest thanks to the sheer diversity of intertwining vocal performances on offer here. Not one of the five feels like an add-on, and each one acts as a lead at different points during this one song. There's even beat boxing! Enjoy, and Happy December! E.G.S
