Put your feet to purpose. - Alex E. 2013 is just about done y'all! Matisyahu is undoubtedly one of my favourite artists, and has been since I first heard his music almost a decade ago. We actually do a mean duet on 'King without a Crown (the Live at Stubb's version of course),' he just doesn't know it yet... There's some more of his music on his SoundCloud page, you'll want to check it out. Trust me on this! It's difficult to write a post today without acknowledging that we are on the eve of a new year, so I won't. A friend said to me a few days ago, "Put your feet to purpose." I challenge you to do the same in 2014. Do not linger in 2013, whether dwelling on the failures, or celebrating the successes. Reflect on the past, look to the future, but live in and experience the present. Happy New Year guys! Until next year/Tunesday... ;) M-J

Tinsel Tunesday 24th December, 2013: Have Yourself a Merry Christmas - Zach Gill ft. Jack Johnson24/12/2013 It's Christmas Eve everyone! Woop woop! Today's Tunesday track is a familiar little ditty sung by Zach Gill and Jack Johnson, coincidentally it is also our hope for you this holiday season. (: Have an amazing day tomorrow! We here at OrangeMouth wish you the merriest of Christmases!
Until next Tunesday... The countdown to Christmas is on guys! Granted I may be the tinest bit late only now commencing said Christmas countdown, we here at OM caught on to this version of today's pick quickly enough. Kelly Clarkson is by far and away the most famous American Idol alum, rising to fame after winning the very first season of the show. Incredibly, it has already been over a decade since she won, and during that time she has proven herself to be a vocal powerhouse. Honestly, we all know girl can SAAAAANG! This performance is no different, and has a surprise! If I write any more, I'll reveal it, so it's best to end here. Grab a mince pie, sit back, and enjoy! Only one more Tinsel Tunesday until Christmas! Until next time guys... M-J Another beautiful Tunesday is upon us guys! We were able to hold out until last week to start with the holiday tunes, but now, the floodgates have been opened! Today's choice is a beautiful instrumental piece of O Come O Come Emmanuel - undoubtedly one of my favourite Christmas songs. There's not much more that needs to be said other than 'Enjoy!' Until next Tunesday... M-J P.S. You'll want to check out their Youtube channel, it was a hard choice between this and their version of Angels We Have Heard On High! ETA: It's your lucky [Tunes-] day! As I said, this is one of my favourite Christmas songs, and I recently heard a new version of it at a carol service, but was unable to find a video of it in time to make it the Tunesday post. I did find it though, and so, for your listening pleasure, O Come O Come Emmanuel... again. Wow right? The guitar - especially the slide playing - is what puts it over the top for me.
What do you guys think? Old school or new? Maybe both? Either way, my ears are happy! (: Until next Tunesday (for real this time)... M-J |
