These Tunesdays roll around quite quickly don't they‽ Today's song was chosen by our Multimedia Guru Peter Dobinson! When asked how to describe it he said it was: "Awesome sweedish shoegaze* made for when knowing what the singer is singing is way to mainstream." Nuff said, on to the video! *Shoegaze is "a style of rock music characterized by a sound in which the distinctions between separate instruments and vocals are blurred." - Google
Just in case you were wondering (I had to look it up too :p )! Until next Tunesday... M-J

NOAH won me over with this song. The voices of the duo - comprised of Rebeka Prance and Joe Baxter - have an almost magnetic draw in the hypnotisingly anthemic Stronger. The childhood friends based in the UK have joined forces to create what they call on their website "a minimalist and emotive sound." They're currently working on tracks for their EP album, but fortunately they have a mixture of their own songs like the huantingly melodic 'Set a fire', and covers of artists like Whitney Houston and Justin Timberlake on their Youtube channel to keep our ears happy while we wait. There are so many amazing lyrics to quote in Stronger, but the one that leaves you feeling warmest inside is probably the line of the chorus from which the song likely derives its name - "I will be stronger." We really like the message of this song, and thought it was the perfect choice for the first ever Tune Tuesday, hopefully you agree! ...and they shot the video in a forest, how cool is that‽ Until next Tunesday... (Be honest, you cringed, then laughed a tiny bit at that) M-J Hey guys, M-J here!

Prepare yourself for things like 'Tune Tuesday' when we'll post an earworm to keep you jamming for the rest of the week (I'm currently in a poke war with the repeat button on Sia's Elastic Heart), stories from people that have dealt or are dealing with Emotional and Mental Health difficulties, upcoming events, our weekly Inspire Challenge which will also be up on Facebook and Twitter. So yeah, that's just an idea of what's going to be happening with the blog. Inspire challenges on Sunday to help you start your week, Tune Tuesdays to keep you grooving, and posts on Thursdays. Excited yet? And there you have it! OM has a brand-spanking new blog, and it shall be a smorgasbord of delight. In the next few posts, our main writers will introduce themselves, so keep an eye out for those posts! Enjoy! Love, peace, and shooting stars, Marla-Joy |
