Hey people! Tunesday seems to have rolled around again, so naturally we have a tune for you!

Today's choice is that of our guest poster affectionately listed in my phone as 'The Babster,' who - to borrow one of her phrases - is a "pretty cool cat." Considering that she studied musical theatre, and just told me that the Broadway version of Disney's Under the Sea would "change my life," I'm pretty sure she knows what she's talking about with today's pick!

Until next time...

M-J

This song is, unequivocally, one of my favourite songs of all time. I listen to it at least once a day, and it never gets old. Ever. I'm not sure I've ever been to a wedding where it hasn't been played – It always seems to be in between the Grease mega mix and Dancing In The Moonlight by Toploader. Lyrically, it’s not the greatest – not helped by the fact that you can’t understand a thing the singer is saying. Musically it couldn't be more eighties, with the cheesy synthesiser. In case you haven’t guessed it yet, my song is Come On Eileen by Dexy & The Midnight Runners.

Now, say what you will, but every time this song is played, even the angriest of listener can’t help but have a little boogie when the bridge kicks in. I kid you not, I requested this song at my local pub, and someone got so excited that they started dancing on a barrel...

I am convinced that Dexy sprinkled a little bit of magic into the bass line of Come On Eileen. Enjoy.
