Happy 2014 everyone! Hope you're ready to join us this year on our crazy epic journey! Some of our people are still enjoying spending the winter working at a ski resort in Japan, or taking a much needed break on the shores of a beach somewhere in the Caribbean, so until they're back, guess who gets to pick the Tunesday songs. :D Today's choice - Papaoutai - is from Belgian singer-songwriter Stromae. While the video is inescapably captivating, and the house music with influences of both pop and zouk undeniably catchy, it is the story behind the song that is the most striking thing about it. Haunted by the death of his Rwanadan father killed during the genocide, Stromae was inspired to write. Papaoutai addresses his father's absence - "Papa où t'es" being French for "Dad where are you." Regardless of whether or not you understand the words of the song, its emotion and message are clear. Until next Tunesday... M-J
