Hello everyone! It's certainly been an interesting year hasn't it?!
As a year draws to a close, it is our tendency to reflect. We acknowledge our mistakes and applaud our successes; the exercise a catharsis allowing us to move into the coming year with a clean slate. Though necessary to look back and learn from our pasts, it is also imperative that we do not dwell on the past or focus on the future to the point that we do not experience our lives in the present. It is easy to live a fearful, "What if" kind of life, full of hesitation and worry. Don't. In 2016, live fearlessly, ask "What if," and then go and find out. Here's a little secret about me: I used to have a vlog. In every video I did two things, 1) give a reason that day was the best day ever, and 2) say something I was grateful for that day. Though I've stopped vlogging, a friend and I have recently started making a concious effort to look for something to celebrate each day, deeming the moments our "daily yay." There is a saying "Every day may not be good, but there is something good in every day." As we begin a new year, I encourage you to find the good in every day, to find your own daily yay. I'm a huge stationary fan, so to me a new year is like a new notepad, full of possibilities. A new day is a blank page waiting to filled. Fill it with a great story, your story. With just a few short hours until 2016, I am challenging you. I challenge you to embrace each moment, to seize the day, to seek adventure, to be the best you, and of course, to #livepositive. This isn't another resolution to add to your list, this is a challenge, and you know what they say about challenges, "Challenge accepted!" ;) Until next time... Happy New Year! M-J

Hey guys!
Cheeky little late-night Tunesday here because I think today's pick has a real "as you drift off" vibe to it. If you're not already snuggled under the covers, here's what you need to do: 1. Lights off 2. Fuzzy socks on (mismatched is best) 3. Hit play on this track as your head hits the pillow 4. Enjoy/Snore/Maybe drool a little :p Until next week, sweet dreams. (:
P.S. Don't sleep until next week, there's lots of adventure to be had between now and next Tunesday, make sure you find yours!
Hello my lovelies! There was no waffling over today's Tunesday pick this week. As soon as I heard Alessia Cara's 'Here,' there was no question in my mind that you guys needed to hear it. Now, while anyone who has been to a rubbish party or is a bit more on the introvert side of the spectrum will be able to appreciate this song, it will be especially poignant for those who experience [social] anxiety. As she describes the situation and repeatedly questions her presence at the party, the line that sticks out most is: I would rather be at home all by myself not in this room How often do we find ourselves in situations where we ask the same thing, "What am I doing here?" Life is somehow simultaneously too long and too short to waste time doing unedifying things that don't help us enjoy life or positively impact the world. Hopefully music is one of the things that leaves a smile on your face! Enjoy! (: The story behind the song
Until next time...
M-J In a delightful plot twist, today's Tunesday if by the ever incredible Ife (of February 3rd Tunesday fame)! Ife is the one who introduced us to the amazing Kwabs earlier this year, and she absolutely nailed it! It would have been foolish not to ask her back. Fortunately, she was easily persuaded, and today's Tunesday is the result! Fingers crossed she joins us again soon. (: Hey lovely people, I’m here with another Tunesday tune for you all!! I’m buzzing to share with you and maybe even introduce to you the ever excited Shakka! I was fortunate enough to watch him headline a gig in Camden the other week, and boy was that a beautiful experience. (Eeeeek!!) There was not a soul in sight that was not feeling the music he poured out! He didn’t only sing the songs but you could just see that he felt every word he sang. The song I have for you today is….. “Sooner or Later”. I find that a lot of people can relate to this song; how many times have we started a journey, whether it be university, a new project or a new job and been asked where do we want to be, or where do we think life is going to take us? We don’t necessarily always need to have all the answers but the most important thing is to just ‘do you’. Don’t be scared to walk on paths less/never travelled, but have that confidence in yourself, and your ability and see how far that will take you. I now present to you….Shakka! Catch you later guys!
